From David J. Eck’s Introduction to Programming Using Java, Version 5.0:

In Java, a single task is called a thread. The term “thread” refers to a “thread of control” or “thread of execution,” meaning a sequence of instructions that are executed one after another – the thread extends through time, connecting each instruction to the next. In a multithreaded program, there can be many threads of control, weaving through time in parallel and forming the complete fabric of the program. (Ok, enough with the metaphor, already!)

Reminds me why I managed to read through this book despite the fact that it is essentially a textbook.

To be perfectly honest, I’m still pissed off about something.

But, like most times, there’s pretty much nothing I can do about it. Well, not now. For there are more urgent things at hand and I need to attend to them before it becomes more than too late.

About that thing that’s bugging me, I’m gonna make it certain I give it some time.

I eventually will have to face databases. MySQL and the sort.

The last time I had a course, I didn’t really learn it for real. When it comes that I already have to take Databases 2, I really would need to learn it for real. Actually, I have to learn it before that has to happen.

And a four gigabyte solid state drive really doesn’t give much room… Really doesn’t give any room for more tools.

#NowPlaying Coldplay‘s Viva la Vida

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
“Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!”

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can’t explain
Once you go there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn’t believe what I’d become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can’t explain
I know Saint Peter won’t call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can’t explain
I know Saint Peter won’t call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world
