Maybe it wasn’t VLC’ fault. I tried to add the same song and VLC still went poof! I tried playing the same song with VLC and still no.

I wonder what’s up with that one.

I didn’t know VLC ever crashes. I guess, there’s a first for everything, right? It was just quite annoying because I was enjoying the music that was playing, added another to the playlist and then, BOOM!, VLC just disappears…

“No one loves their Android phone, we want to build a phone that users will love: One that will be more beautiful than Apple and as powerful as Android but with the open -source legacy of Ubuntu.

– Jono Bacon, for Ubuntu for phones

Could it be more obvious what I like best about all that?

And for a mobile OS very far from its final version, the Ubuntu for phone looks really beautiful.

The nails pounded through the wrists would have crushed the median nerve, the largest nerve going to the hand, causing indescribable pain. “The pain was absolutely unbearable,” says Dr. Metherell. “In fact, it was literally beyond words to describe; they had to invent a new word: excruciating. Literally, excruciating means ‘out of the cross.’

Thus I learned where the word excruciating came from. Among others. How could anyone ever bear such torture?

From Jesus Christ: The Real Story

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher …

“You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

– C.S. Lewis

“This quest may be attempted by the weak with as much hope as the strong. Yet such is oft the course of deeds that move the wheels of the world: small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere.”

– Elrond

“Despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt… It is wisdom to recognize necessity, when all other courses have been weighed, though as folly it may appear to those who cling to false hope.”

– Gandalf the Grey

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken:
The crownless again shall be king.

Seek for the Sword that was broken:
In Imladris it dwells;
There shall be counsels taken
Stronger than Morgul-spells.
There shall be shown a token
That Doom is near at hand,
For Isildur’s Bane shall waken,
And the Halfling forth shall stand.

Being the older one with abilities which are recognized by your younger relations really comes with quite a bit of obligation.

I don’t want to do this but whatever! My finals at the @UoPeople were over last week. My mid-terms will be over this week. I basically have nothing required to do so I might as well do this.

It’s not that difficult anyway. Although, I should teach her to be more creative next time instead of coming to me for these things. Yeah, that’s what I should do.

Weirdest thing…

I have this instructor who went MIA for a few days and came back just this mid-terms week with exams much more forgiving than the usual exams he makes. It’s like he had a heart attack and is now experiencing the phoenix effect and is being remorseful. It’s so unlike him to be giving such… Well, very easy exams. His exams used to require much more attention to the details from the materials.

Not that I like those tests. The phrases he made before more often than not didn’t make sense and your problem is figuring out what he’s trying to ask instead of looking for the answer from your brain. These ones are just a bit… Well, weird.

Things are calm now for a bit. Another term’s over at the @UoPeople. At least, for me. It’s Unit 9 and I’ve done all exams already. I just really hope I don’t fail any of my courses. It’ll be awful if that ever happened.

As for results, I’m quite confident about getting a really good grade for my CS course but I’m not as confident about my GS course. I really wish I could’ve done better. Well, I never really got a failing grade before. At least, by the university’s standards. As for my personal standards, my performance has not been quite up to par with what I’d expect of myself.

There’s still a lot to do and I can only of that the next term will be good to me.

Never mind, erase that.

I will make it so that the next term would be good for me, excellent even.

#NowPlaying Steven Curtis Chapman‘s One Little Heartbeat at a Time from This Moment

You, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at the time
Making history with every touch
And every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
That you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time

Who knew coming up with little haikus could be fun?

It’s for an assignment but I’ve gone over the requirement already. Way over. There are also the tanaga.

Yeah, it’s for Filipino. And so I’m writing them in Filipino. Now, I’m thinking that whichever ones don’t get submitted gets posted in here.

Exactly when is Celine Dion’s I’m Alive from? I feel like I just recently rediscovered it… Or maybe even discovered it and it sounds so good. It really makes you feel like… Well…

When you call on me
When you reach for me
I get wings to fly
I feel that
When you bless the day
I just drift away
All my worries die
I know that I’m alive.

I get wings to fly
God knows that I’m alive
